At the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre, we run competitions for children aged 5-16 years. Our athletes compete by age group, using their year of birth. Our registration page has more information about competition age groups.

We know how important it is for children to try a new sport before they’re signed up. We offer a ‘Come and Try’ option at the beginning of each summer season (now closed until next season) where your child can attend two pre-season training sessions and our first competition day free of change. Have a read of our ‘Come and Try’ information, which also includes a sign-up link.

Little Athletics is definitely not about being the fastest, fittest or strongest child – it’s about keeping fit, having fun and meeting new friends. We say it’s about personal bests and being your best.

One of the great things about Little Athletics is that kids can have a try and lots of different track and field events. From running, walking, hurdles, javelin, discus, shot put, long jump, high jump and triples jump, there really is something for everyone.

For a program of events, visit the calendar page.

We know family life is busy, so we offer three training options for our little athletes (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons). Check out our training page  for more details.

One of the common misconceptions about Little Athletics is that competition days are really long days.

At the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre this is definitely not the case. We’ve worked hard over the years to streamline our competition days and we aim to finish by 12:00pm every Saturday. Plenty of weekend time left to keep enjoying the summer sunshine.

Like all sporting clubs, the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre could not run without volunteers. Everyone involved in the centre is a volunteer and all parents or caregivers are required to volunteer during the summer season.

There are lots of ways to get involved and help out, and it really is great fun.

We’ve provided more information on our volunteer page.

Every Inglewood Little Athletic family is required to volunteer seven (7) times during the competition season and at least twice (2) during our centre championships. You can select the dates which work best for your family.

You could volunteer in the canteen, record scores and times, help set up, rake the sand after jumps and much more. Our volunteer page has more information, including our duty list.

Registrations for the 2023/2024 summer season are open and the first competition day is Saturday 7 October. Our 2023/24 season wraps up on 16 March 2024. Download our season calendar for all the dates you need to know.

All registrations for the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre are done online through ResultsHQ. You can register and pay online (including registering multiple children) in a few steps. We’ve provided a registration guide on the registration page.

Registrations for the summer season at Inglewood Little Athletics cost $220 for each athlete, plus a credit card booking fee. There is no discount for additional children, but KidSport vouchers are accepted.

Uniforms can be purchased on training and competition days at the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre. The uniforms page includes a full list of uniform options as well as current prices.

All little athletes must compete in full uniform on competition day, so purchasing the uniform is important.

Our coaches love athletics and love helping your little athletes to be their best. We have current and ex-athletes, senior athletes and parents who volunteer their time to help your child grow in confidence on the track and in the field.

All events for the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre are included on our season calendar. There is also a summer program for competition days which outlines which ages groups are participating in which events.

You can download a copy of the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre calendar and summer program of events.

Little Athletics runs for the summer season; however, a winter season of cross country and road walking is available.

The winter season runs at venues across Perth, with registrations required for each individual event. For more winter athletics information, visit our registration, training and competition pages.

For little athletes aged 11 years age and over we provide a pathway to senior athletics competition at Athletics West. The Go for 2 & 5 Track and Field Season (‘Strive’) offers weekly athletics competitions for Athletics West members from October through until March.
